Woo Jung Kim , PA-C

Cardiovascular Specialist & Physician Associate located in Chinatown, New York, NY & Flushing, NY

About Woo Jung Kim PA-C

Woo Kim graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's Degree in laboratory medicine and worked at the University of Washington Medical Center for 6 years before moving to New York for graduate school to pursue a career as a Physician Associate. During his academic years, Woo always found interest in the cardiovascular system and the learning process just "clicked" and made sense. As Woo completed his internship at Montefiore Hospital for Cardiology and Cardiac ICU, his desire to pursue the field of cardiology solidified. Since then, he has been practicing in non-invasive cardiology, not only managing patients with cardiac problems but also in preventative care such as managing their blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes. He is a firm believer in patient education being an important key to "winning the patient's heart". He reminds himself that patients know their bodies best, and it is vital that providers are listening to their patients - it can only help. Woo believes that being a part of a media-driven world is a value added to the healthcare industry. As many patients have come to start advocating for themselves due to information at their fingertips, it also gives the providers a chance to take a second look. He never takes the “know all” approach.

As a Korean - American immigrant, Woo would definitely love to serve and be a successful provider within the community, as he has witnessed firsthand how detrimental it can be to have poor access to health care. As for hobbies: Woo likes outdoor activities. He is a big fan of snowboarding and currently learning how to golf and how to be patient in the process of it.
