Apurva R. Patel, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with expertise in structural heart disease management and treatment. He cares for patients at Chinatown Cardiology, PC, which has three office locations in the Chinatown, Brooklyn, and Flushing neighborhoods of New York City. 

Dr. Patel completed his fellowships in Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Disease Interventions at the DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center, Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He trained in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and Cardiovascular Disease at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital. He has received several academic accolades and research awards during his training and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters.

Dr. Patel is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular disease, Interventional Cardiology, Comprehensive Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Interpretations. His clinical focus includes an entire spectrum of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve therapies (Mitraclip, TMVR, and BMV), ASD/PFO closure, paravalvular leak closure, and left atrial appendage closure, in addition to complex coronary interventions. He also performs endovascular intervention for peripheral arterial disease. 

Dr. Patel is highly skilled in all facets of cardiovascular disease management. He is also fluent in English, Indian (Hindi), Gujarati, and Urdu (Pakistan), which allows him to better serve a wider population of patients.

Office Visit Copays, Coinsurance, and Deductibles

Copay is typically a fixed amount associated with an office visit and diagnostic services, depending on your health plan agreement. Copay is collected at the time of service. Coinsurances are based upon the percentage of the allowed amount for a covered service; this portion varies depending on your healthcare contract. Coinsurance applies after deductible is met. Deductibles are predetermined and are also member’s responsibility. Deductible are an annual responsibility, defined by your benefit plan level, deductibles are also collected upfront.
